We are not fitting travel clients in between other types of medical or pharmaceutical practice – we offer dedicated travel clinics. We can skillfully counsel and prepare you for any type of travel to any destination. Be it to the savannas of Tanzania, the heights of Everest, the jungles of Borneo and everywhere in between. Whether you’re travelling alone or with a group, for pleasure or for business, trekking and climbing or cruising and 5-star resorting, we know how to educate and prepare you for the best experience possible.

We carry all the vaccines, all the time. We can prepare you to travel with weeks of notice or on the way to the airport, whether you’re 9 weeks old or 90 years old. From planning to homecoming, we offer a comprehensive range of services and products to help make your trip safe and memorable.

We don’t just stop when you leave; we’re here when you get home. It doesn’t happen often but when travel acquired illness does occur, our specialized medical team is here for you.

 

Odyssey History

Odyssey Travel + Tropical Medicine Clinics have been offering expert and comprehensive pre-travel medical services since January 2000.  Over the years, the Odyssey family has grown and changed considerably, with 10 dedicated professional staff members to serve clients from the Calgary area.

Our commitment to good quality travel-related medical care goes back decades.  Odyssey had its origins in the Foothills Travel and Immunization Clinic which opened at the University of Calgary in 1983.  Two of our physicians and one nurse started their Travel Medicine careers there, moving to Odyssey Travel + Tropical Medicine Clinic in 2000 when the Foothills clinic closed its doors.

Odyssey started life in a building on 20th Avenue and 14th Street NW Calgary, conveniently situated around the corner from Jimmy’s A and A Deli where you will find the best chicken shawarma in the city.   Nevertheless, it was a little too tucked away and the parking became challenging, so we cast our eyes around for a new home.

In 2011 we moved our clinic to Market Mall Professional Building for 5 years before transitioning all services to our current location at Richmond Square Medical Centre where our clients enjoy access to free parking, laboratory services and nearby shopping.

What has never changed with time is our commitment to providing personalized, comprehensive, up-to-date care for all our travelers.  We feel lucky to have found like-minded colleagues who share this goal, propelling us forward to find new and innovative ways of improving our services.
