The Red Sea lies to its west, the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea to its south, Oman to the East and Saudi Arabia to the north. Many of the Red Sea islands belong to Yemen and many of these islands are volcanic. Yemen is mostly desert, temperatures are hot in the day and cold at night.
